Hand Reconstruction Surgery

Hand reconstruction surgery can be an excellent option if you have experienced an extensive injury to your hand. Some common reasons for hand surgery include (but are not limited to): broken or crushed bones, severe burns, compressed joints, lacerations, and damaged nerves. A hand reconstruction procedure can effectively repair and realign damaged tendons, ligaments, and bones while restoring proper function to surrounding veins, arteries, and nerves in the hand and wrist. Additionally, the procedure can also be combined with hand rejuvenation for cosmetic purposes.

Dr. Patel generally performs hand reconstruction surgery under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Procedural times and recovery will vary depending on the extent of your surgery. You can typically expect to experience minor swelling and bruising, but any discomfort can be managed with medication. Downtime will also vary, but most patients are able to resume their normal daily routines within two weeks and are cleared for all activities by four to six weeks.

Hand Rejuvenation

Hand rejuvenation can be a great way to restore a youthful appearance to the skin on your hands. Common reasons to receive a hand rejuvenation treatment include the desire to reduce signs of wrinkles, sun spots, age spots, prominent veins, scars, moles, and minor burns. During the procedure, Dr. Patel typically utilises anti-wrinkle treatments, chemical peels, or other techniques to renew the appearance of your hands and reveal younger-looking skin.

Dr. Patel typically performs hand rejuvenation under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Treatment times will vary depending on the extent of your rejuvenation goals, but most procedures can be completed in about one hour or less. Minor swelling and redness following your treatment are common, and any discomfort can be alleviated with medication. After your procedure, you will likely be able to resume normal daily activities immediately. Depending on the technique utilised, multiple treatments may be necessary for the most effective results.
