Skin Fillers

Over time, many people develop wrinkles along the face due to stress, sun exposure, lifestyle choices, and a variety of other reasons. Additionally, many people also begin to lose volume in certain facial features as they age. Skin fillers, also called dermal fillers, can be an excellent way to fill facial lines and wrinkles, as well as add volume to one’s cheeks, lips, and other areas. At our plastic surgery practice, our highly-trained Registered Nurse, Lindy Patel, offers a number of skin fillers designed to achieve smoother, more youthful facial skin in a minimally-invasive manner. With years of cosmetic experience, Lindy can use dermal fillers to achieve natural-looking results that align with your overall cosmetic goals.

Benefits of Skin Fillers

Much like our wrinkle reduction injectables, all of our skin fillers are minimally-invasive injectable treatments that require little to no downtime. Dermal fillers from The Lotus Clinic are often particularly effective at addressing deep creases and wrinkles, as well as sunken cheeks and lips lacking volume and fullness. Each treatment typically lasts about 30 minutes or less – depending on your specific needs – and most patients are able to resume their daily routines when they leave our office. Results are typically very natural-looking and can last up to a year, if not longer in some cases. Furthermore, skin fillers can be used in combination with a facelift, neck lift, or other rejuvenation procedures for enhanced results.

How Skin Fillers Work

Many skin fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (a substance that occurs naturally in the body) and work to fill areas of skin that lack volume and elasticity. During your treatment, Lindy will inject a particular filler – selected according to your individual needs – into targeted wrinkles and/or facial features to restore smoothness, volume, and contour. Numbing techniques can be used to enhance comfort, and results will typically be immediate. Each type of skin filler has its own unique advantages. Lindy will explain your options and help you determine which filler can be best for your needs.

Results and Recovery from Skin Fillers

There is generally no downtime associated with skin fillers. Some temporary bruising and swelling may occur, but any lasting discomfort is rare and can be alleviated with medication. Results will often last for about six to twelve months, if not longer. For the most effective and long-lasting results, multiple treatments may be necessary.
