Benefits of Cosmetic Injectables
Last week, in a blog post titled, “What to Consider When Looking For an Injector,” Dr. Chandra Patel and Lindy Patel, RN discussed the importance of choosing a highly qualified injector for skin fillers. In the second entry in our two-part series, they cover the benefits of several non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments.
There are numerous anti-wrinkle treatments available to patients wanting to diminish signs of aging such as creases, hollow cheeks, and loss of skin elasticity. Once a patient selects an experienced and extensively trained injector, the next consideration involves which treatment plan best suits his or her aesthetic goals.
Skin fillers are designed to add volume and definition to facial features such as the lips and cheeks and reduce wrinkles. Many of these minimally-invasive dermal fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally-occurring substance found in the skin. Dr. Patel and Lindy Patel, RN consult with the patient to create a customised plan to help address areas of concern, which may include the face, brow, and neck. Common benefits of cosmetic skin injectables include:
- Little to no downtime
- Quick Procedure
- Most patients resume normal activities immediately
- Results are often very natural-looking
- Can be combined with other cosmetic enhancement procedures
- Minimally-invasive – no surgery is required
Surgical procedures like facelift can be helpful for reducing excess skin and contouring the jawline, but patients who have wrinkles and/or hollowness in the cheeks may benefit best from non-invasive dermal fillers, especially if an extensive recovery period is of concern. Dr. Patel and Lindy Patel, RN discuss each option thoroughly with patients to determine which rejuvenation methods can be most effective.
